Giles was stretched out on the couch, enjoying the rare peace and quiet. Buffy was out shopping, and Dawn was out with friends. He sighed, and reached for the can of Guinness on the table. This was the life; it hadn't been quiet for a long time. He'd only been living in the Revello Drive house for about a month, and things were finally starting to settle down. Buffy, Dawn and himself had got into a routine. With Giles living in the house, and sharing the expenses, Buffy had been able to return to college.

Dawn would go straight from school to the magic shop, where she would do her homework and then she and Giles would drive home together. Buffy would come home from college for dinner, and then go out patrolling. Life had changed since Joyce's death, as had a lot of the furniture. The couch Giles was stretched out on was actually big enough for him to lie down and nap on, which he did from time to time.

At the moment, Giles was reading one of his new books, occasionally having a sip of his beer, and passing a piece of carrot to the bunny on his shoulder. Giles reached up to scratch Snugglebunny between the ears, hard to believe it Snugglebunny had moved in only a week after Giles had. Snugglebunny crunched the carrot down, and snuggled closer into Giles. The two had been instant friends. Technically, Snugglebunny was meant to be Dawn's rabbit, but everyone knew he was really Giles' pet... or best friend, with the amount of time they had spent together that was probably a better definition. It was Giles who fed him, cleaned out his cage and even took him for walks around the back yard. He even spent quality time reading with SB.

Giles felt himself beginning to doze off; his shoes were off, his socked feet covered in cushions. His beer was half-gone and he was tired. He jerked awake when SB tapped him on the shoulder gently. "Oh sorry mate," Giles said and turned the page. SB flicked one ear and rubbed his cheek against Giles once to let him know it was okay. After Giles turned the page he felt his eyes slowly close again, he knew it would be a good 10 minutes before SB would be ready for the next page. SB nudged Giles softly again, and the Watcher reached for another piece of carrot automatically, but within seconds he was dozing lightly.

"Giles!!" Buffy called as she slammed the door behind herself, Willow and Tara. All three came to an abrupt halt and fell silent as they turned toward the living room. SB looked up at the girls and twitched his ear as if to say, 'Shh, I just got him to sleep.'

"Eep!" Buffy gasped quietly as her eyes traveled over her sleeping watcher. "Sorry, SB, we'll be quiet."

With a nod SB settled back into his spot on Giles shoulder. Giles let out a contented sigh as he drifted deeper into sleep. All tension left his body as SB gently stroked his cheek.

Unable to contain herself Willow softly gushed, "Aren’t they soooo cute! Buffy that is such a Kodak moment! Quick get a camera. Tara don't you think they're cute?"

"Yes Willow they are cute, but I don't think M-Mr. Giles would appreciate it if we took his picture, sweetie." Tara whispered.

"Giles might not appreciate it but would love a picture of them! They are beyond cute Wills! This borders on the adorable!" With that Buffy rushed up the stairs to her room.

Willow and Tara looked at each other and silently decided that now would be a good time to leave. They did not think it would be a good idea to be Buffys accomplices in any picture taking. Giles would not be happy and they did not want to be on the receiving end of his temper. Buffy could handle him and she would share the pictures whether the Wiccas helped or not. So as Buffy came down the stairs camera in hand the two witches quietly said goodbye and left out the front door.

Buffy tiptoed into the living room. The closer she got the more precious became the sight before her. His face was relaxed in sleep. More relaxed than she had ever seen it. A smile twitched slightly on his lips as SB's whiskers tickled his ear. SB was comfortably ensconced in the crook of his neck and shoulder sleeping as soundly as the watcher. Buffy took the picture but no one else would ever see it. This was a picture she would hold to her heart.
