I hold her body tight to mine, and watch the blood flow from the deep wound.
She's not going to make it this time, we both know it.

"Buffy, I love you."
"I know Giles, I've always loved you. Goodbye."

Her breathing is laboured and then stops, my tears flow as I clasp her close to my chest, holding her now as I should have held her so many times before.
She's gone, and I am alone.
